Step 2

                         Step 2; Building block phase.

So,I've decided on my business, and figured out all the permits, liscenses, and any certfication I may need in order to proceed to step 2.

Step 2, why of course, is when you've decided that you are going to go ahead and persue that dream of yours -hold on pal you may want to make sure you've cleared our suggested checklist first:
  1. Have the business I for sure want to run and am commited to finding funding and sticking by my dreams down the tough winding road thats for sure ahead ( I cannot stress enough how tough the road is going to be especially for a muslim youth trying to fund a business the right way.and for anyone in general.
  2. Have my business plan layed out and reviewed professionally , that dosent have to mean you necessarily have to pay for a professional biz plan reviewer-thats not always the case depending on the risks of the business and how far you're trying to go with it.just someone in the targeted business category.
  3. Figure out the liscences and permits you may need for your biz ,always make sure your funding goes toward these things first , you dont want to be shut down on pre-opening day.there are alwys of course exeptions to the rule many places dont require certain permits, and so on till you earn a certain bar of money or consitient certain amount of expenses.
  4. Gaining the necessary Certificates and taking specified knowledge courses will boost your knowledge of the industry and biz youre pursuing and it shows investors (should you have any) that you're focused and have the skills to succeed, now you dont have go get a Phd in order to gain the qualifications and credintial boosters that come with being certified and equipped, just head over to our directory to find the resources.
  5. Funding can be tricky, especially when youre not a billionaire or maybe even a thousandaire. So whats the trick for all of us broke Gen Y'' prenuers, being consistent, only choosing things that you can estimate will work for your business, dont overlook the people in front of you, and try your best not to be to desperate and make uncalculated ,irrational desicions. follow through with your promises and DONT EVER promise something you know with full or even half knowledge that you cannot provide. Keep in mind the rules and regulations of doing business in islam and the rules and reg. for attaining funding for your venture.
  6. Note; there are tons of free resources out there for you to take advantage of our free resources page will be contsantly updated.
Questions;have you moved on to your step 2 ? done anything on here yet ? hows your progress ?

Step 1

Deciding on a Biz (Part I)
(Each category will be broken into individual articles later on inshallah)

Most times once we finally decide on a business we may not fully know how to go about starting it ,we may think 'I know I want to sell something sewn -because I like to sew and can sew well -but how - and what do I start ?  how would I go about it ? -what comes first ? what would be the most appropriate ?

You might say '' I like to sew-can sew well"
- ''I have the perfect idea and would like to execute it without (virtually) any regrets- so how do I go about this process ?

1- you want to make sure you have all your ideas together - its easy to do things on a whim but putting them all together and acknowledging your goals ahead of time - before the going gets tough ,you'll have a great incentive  even in those hard times to come !

2- you want to make sure your money ( or financing ) matches your business start-up ambitions. often it might be a little harder to find financing for your new start-up being a teen let alone being Muslim- we have are own extra  restrictions on top of it all- no interest loans ,not being in unreasonable debt with anyone and promising products or services we don't have in exchange for capital or seed financing.

3.You have to make sure to take all the necessary steps, and remember that our rizq (provisions and sustenance) comes from Allah subhanahu wata3lah and that when you are meant to succeed no matter how fast or slow everyone around you are succeeding ,yours will happen when it happens because the main reasons of us gaining wealth is to free ourselves up for worshipping Allah - after all that is why we are here right ?!

How to brain storm Lesson I

There comes a time in the business prospective process when we have to brain storm - whats a brainstorm ? you ask- well here's brainstorm  stage 1

    You'll need: Pencil/w eraser,
Good notebook (preferably one that can go with you anywhere -never know where or when inspiration might spark -but large enough to understand what you actually wrote)
Great ideas
Good knowledge (of businesses you're interested in)
Ambition & determination

1.What am I good at ?(list at least three)

2.Why am I doing this ?/ What can I do ?

3.Do I have any knowledge in the field im interested in ?

4.What is within my (realistic) ability to do ? i.e. if you are a traveler a brick and mortar bakery may not be so ideal - but a low inventory- bakery supply biz, cooking blog or even e-cookbooks may be a huge possibility !

5. Am I willing to commit time , money (mine or others) and faith in my product or idea ?

6.Will I make sure to do full research on all my legal must-do's and actually front the appropriate dues when necessary?

7.Am I of legal age for the biz I am trying to pursue ? ( and if not will i wait out the time and prepare for the optimal when able if necessary) ?

8. Have I done the right market research necessary ?

9. After following the above steps have I winded my decision down to at least two ideas? (if only two than a good idea of  the final one the one?)

10.Did I outline a biz plan as of yet ?
